State of Palestine recognised by Ireland, Norway and Spain – James O’Brien reacts | LBC
Benjamin Netanyahu has recalled Israel’s ambassadors to Spain, Ireland, and Norway to issue a “severe reprimand” to the European nations following their decision to recognise Palestinian statehood.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz condemned the gesture of support for the Palestinians as “folly”. This move increases the number of the EU’s 27 member states that recognise Palestinian statehood, although it does not include major powers within the bloc.
James O’Brien reacts to this latest development in the Israel-Palestine conflict and explores what the ramifications of this may be.
