Thirty-nine police officers have been injured in disorder outside a mosque in Southport, with the chaos erupting following a knife attack that left three girls dead in the Merseyside town.
The violence came just hours after a peaceful vigil to remember the victims, which caller Sarah attended.
Local MP Patrick Hurley says rioter ‘utterly disrespected the families of the dead and injured children’.
