A confrontation between management at The Old Vine, a card-only pub in Winchester, and a punter who wanted to pay in cash has gone viral.
Now, it’s perfectly legal for businesses to refuse cash payments and the government says it has no plans to force a change.
But with cash payments on the rise and over five million people saying they rely on it day-to-day, perhaps there should be a legal right to pay with cash?
