It comes after Tory leadership frontrunner Robert Jenrick claimed the national identity was ‘under threat’ from multiculturalism and woke ideology.
Alex questions whether “we have sacrificed quintessential” aspects of Englishness by focusing too much on multiculturalism.
“All of these entities have been rather hijacked by trying to uplift and promote non-English cultural identities,” she says.
