Russian authorities have detained almost 15 thousand citizens for protesting against President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, according to the U.S. State Department. “We stand with Russian citizens of conscience as they seek to exercise their rights to freedom of expression,” spokesperson Ned Price said at a briefing in Washington on Tuesday. “We will hold responsible those who engage in human rights abuses.”
