“Dysfunctional Private Rented Sector” | Keir Starmer’s Plan To Ban ‘No-Fault’ Evictions

The Government aims to ban “no-fault” evictions in England by next summer, according to Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook. This is part of the Renters’ Rights Bill being introduced to Parliament. The ban was originally proposed by the Conservatives but was delayed due to concerns from some Tory MPs about its impact on landlords. The bill would also stop “bidding wars” for rental properties and prevent landlords from rejecting tenants who are on benefits or have children. Renter groups welcomed the bill, but said more needs to be done about unreasonable rent hikes. Landlords said they need enough time to adjust to the new rules. Mike Graham speaks with Richard Blanco from the Residential Landlords Association. #news #politics #housing #uk #economy #rent #talk #talkradio Credit to : TalkTV
