Kemi Badenoch has won the Conservative Party leadership, defeating Robert Jenrick with 53,806 votes to his 41,388. The 44-year-old MP for North West Essex has led as shadow business and trade secretary since the Conservatives lost the general election in July, which prompted Rishi Sunak’s resignation.
