Around 90 people were arrested after another night of violent disorder swept through the country on Saturday, with police bracing for more trouble in the days ahead.
Far-right demonstrators clashed with police in several towns and cities in England and Northern Ireland, leaving dozens of officers injured. Manchester, Hull, Liverpool, Bristol, Stoke-on-Trent, Blackpool, and Belfast were hotspots of unrest, with missiles hurled and shops looted.
The wave of violence began on Tuesday in Southport after a horrific knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club claimed the lives of three young girls.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer gave his full support for the police to crack down on “extremists” trying to “sow hate” and intimidate communities.
He held emergency talks with ministers to address the escalating chaos.
