Suella Braverman Says She ‘Will Never Be Truly English’ & Citizenship Doesn’t Mean You Are

Suella Braverman thinks ‘Englishness’ is about ancestry and heritage and not birthplace. She argues that she is not English, despite being born in the country.

The former Home Secretary says her Indian roots and lack of generational ties to England means she identifies as British Asian instead.

Ms Braverman warns that mass migration and multiculturalism have watered down English identity, adding that it is time to figure out what it really means before it is gone for good.

Talk’s Ian Collins discusses the story with director of British Future Sunder Katwala.
