UK health: NHS approves groundbreaking sickle cell treatment
A groundbreaking treatment for sickle cell disease will be offered on the NHS for the first time – at a list price of £1.65 million.
The gene-editing therapy, known as exa-cel, will be limited to around 50 people a year, who have severe Sickle Cell. And It works by editing out the faulty Sickle gene in sufferers.
