“Machete Fights On Our Streets In Broad Daylight!” | Government Launch Knife Amnesty

In a bold move to clean up the streets, owners of deadly zombie knives and machetes can now cash in on their dangerous weapons by handing them over to the police. The Government is offering at least £10 for each weapon turned in, as part of a new scheme aimed at curbing the recent wave of horrific knife crimes involving children. Starting August 26, eligible weapons – those with blades of at least eight inches, sharp points, and features like serrated edges or spikes – can be exchanged for cash. Among the items targeted are so-called “Rambo-style knives” and “zombie-style machetes,” which have been linked to a string of violent incidents. The scheme runs until September 23, just before tougher new laws banning these lethal blades come into effect on September 24. Police stations across the country will be accepting the weapons, with specific details available to the public.
